Recognising the potential for humanitarian works in South Asia region, IEEE GHTC and IEEE Kerala Section will jointly host the GHTC South Asia Satellite Conference (GHTC-SAS) during 23-24 August 2013 at Trivandrum, Kerala India. This satellite conference will focus on addressing pressing humanitarian challenges and issues in South Asia. Consistent with the GHTC objectives the South Asia Satellite Conference, invites submissions under the following four tracks:
- Distributed Renewable Energy Generation and Microgrids
Distributed solar generation; local and micro grids; wind energy, conventional and blade less; biomass and biogasifiers; wave energy; microhydel; submersible microhydels; solar concentrators; energy storage mechanisms; In-vehicle energy generation; - Municipal Solid Waste Management
Biodegradation; automated solid waste processing; landfill; incineration; recycling; resource recovery; e-waste management; gasification; plasma; hazardous waste management; membrane bioreactors - Inclusive Technologies for the Differently-abled
Mobility enhancement; emergency response systems; assistive systems; software-based assistive systems; prosthesis; computer accessibility - Agriculture, Water, Disaster Management, Health and Education (Open Track)
Innovations in humanitarian technologies in agriculture, water management, disaster management, health, education, financial inclusion, gender and culture and knowledge management. - Emerging Technologies for Humanitarian Applications
Innovative technologies that have potential for use in humanitarian technologies.
Accepted papers that are presented at the GHTC-SAS Conference will be published along with the GHTC 2013 proceeding in October 2013. All papers that meet the IEEE Conference Publication Program requirements of an IEEE quality review will be included in IEEE Xplore Digital Library. IEEE reserves the right to not publish any proceedings that are not meeting the standards. Electronic media containing all accepted GHTC 2013 submissions would be distributed to registered attendees. One author of the best paper in each of the tracks will be invited and funded to present the paper at the GHTC 2013 in October 20-23, 2013 in Silicon Valley, California USA.
Full Paper Submission Deadline: March 08th, 2013 March 29th,2013
- All submissions must be done online. Submit at https://ieee-ghtc-sas.myreviewroom.com.
- Submissions must be written in English, must not be longer than 6 pages, minimum font is 10 point, single-spaced, and may include figures, illustrations, and graphs.
- Notification of acceptance will be sent via email only, and posted on the website. Authors of unaccepted submissions will be notified by email.
- Authors of accepted papers will have an opportunity to revise their submissions for inclusion in the electronic media until June 1st, 2013.
